There is a great deal of writing going on during my usual 9-5 as a community affairs and social media manager. Along with press releases, social media captions, email marketing, and general copywriting, I also keep the InDowncity website up to date with fresh content. This includes articles about mocktails in Providence, news about business openings (including the relocation of a beloved cafe), and seasonal gift guides.
Additionally, I always jump at the chance to write freelance pieces about things fresh, exciting, or just downright strange. (Who’d have thought I’d ever admit to how reading Amish fiction as a kid led me to accept myself and my love for romance?)
As a contributing writer for over four years for Book Riot, I wrote 70+ pieces about reading, libraries, publishing, and more. Subjects ranged from book character quizzes, to timely reading recommendations, to in-depth news pieces.
